Butte Valley Unified School District graciously serves their communities by providing transportation for Mt. Hebron, Macdoel and Dorris families; daily. 💪🚌We visit Lava Beds National Monument every week, and learn more about our landscape. Caving, hiking, bird watching, history lessons and more–our 4th-6th graders conquered a challenging hike up Sheepy Ridge this past Thursday! 🌞🥾🐾On Wednesdays our campers learn “How to Be an Engineer”, brought to us in partnership with SiskiyouWorksGSK and The Franklin Institute. 💡🔧⚙️ A special thanks to our volunteer Engineers that come to help facilitate the program for our youth.

We believe in empowering youth to value their health. Nutrition is critical to their development and we believe it provides a foundation for success. Daily, we provide nutrient dense food, fitness and nutrition lessons for campers. We are only able to provide healthy snacks and salad bar to campers and staff because of our generous sponsor: Duncan Family Farms Az🥦🥑🍓

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta Rock STEM Camp!

This Feel Good Wednesday, we would like to share how Club members were invited to learn, explore, create and innovate through Science in the Summer.
When school is out, science is in. GSK Science in the Summer has been inspiring young scientists for more than 30 years, and we are so grateful to have been able to offer our Club members this enriching program!
Club members had the exciting opportunity to play the role of engineers and tackle challenges in electrical, biomedical, environmental, and structural engineering through experiments and activities. Youth explored the engineering design process as they solved real-world problems—including managing a playground’s storm water runoff and designing a sturdy lightweight pedestrian bridge.
Thank you to GSK in partnership with The Franklin Institute for providing this program to the Club, and to Siskiyou Works for your stellar assistance!
